Why heavy metal is good for you

I guess to me it was always clear that heavy metal was good for me. I had the choice between a bunch of stuff that sounded like Lady GaGa or Nas, or I had this powerful, evil-sounding, intense music that was as brave as a warrior and as impersonal as a history of the civil war. While everyone around me was obsessed with their own little ego dramas, heavy metal was big picture music. It was both heavy (deep, dark, and ambiguous concepts in life) and simply rockin’. It gave energy where pop music took it away.

Margaret Priebe — in her mid 70s at the time — was just fine . . . in the garage, car doors open, stereo cranking.

Jim shouted into the phone:
“What’s that noise, Mom?!”
She shouted back:
“Metallica!”

Steel Panther – Death To All But Metal

This made my week.  I have been listening to this song for weeks now. I am obsessed, I admit it. A lot of “musicians” meet their demise in this song.   80′s metal + comedic genius + SARAH SILVERMAN!  Are you kidding me?  The video ended up being cooler than I ever thought it could be.  Very NSFW (lyrically), but VERY worth 4 minutes of your day.  Enjoy.
